Residues of atrazine and its metabolites in groundwater in the region of Macva
Apstrakt
Poslednjih decenija, intenzivna primena herbicida na bazi atrazina, dovela je do nagomilavanja njegovih ostataka u životnoj sredini, uključujući i podzemne vode. Cilj rada bio je monitoring ostataka herbicida atrazina i njegovih metabolita, dezetil atrazina (DEA) i dezizopropil atrazina (DIA), u podzemnim vodama regiona Mačve. Atrazin i metaboliti ekstrahovani su metanolom uz primenu C-18 SP diska, a nivo ostataka ispitivanih jedinjenja analiziran je pomoću GC/MSD. Prinos ekstrakcije za atrazin i metabolite iznosio je 72-90%. Od ukupnog broja uzoraka podzemne vode, kod 40% utvrđeno je prisustvo rezidua ispitivanih analita. Analizom su utvrđene prosečne količine atrazina od 0,009mg/dm3, DEA 0,0084mg/dm3 i dezizopropil atrazina u količini 1,692mg/dm3. Vrednosti iznad maksimalno dozvoljene količine pojedinačnih pesticida u vodi utvrđene su samo za DIA.
The long-lasting application of herbicides based on atrazine has given rise to the accumulation of its residues in the environment including groundwater. The aim of the paper was monitoring the herbicide residues of atrazine and its metabolites, deethylatrazine (DEA) and deisopropylatrazine (DIA) in the groundwater of the region of Macva. The atrazine and metabolites were extracted with methanol through C-18 SP disc and the residue level of the studied compounds was analyzed by GC/MSD. The recovery for atrazine and metabolites was 72-90%. Out of the total number of groundwater samples, residues of atrazine and metabolites were found in 40% of samples. Average values of the atrazine residues 0.009mg/dm3 were determined by the analysis, DEA 0.0084mg/dm3 and DIA 1.692mg/dm3. The level of the atrazine and metabolites above the EU MRLs (0.1mg/dm3) was observed only for DIA.
